Opening times and prices
ARRIVAL AT TURKU CASTLE DURING SLOT FESTIVAL AND TALL SHIPS RACES 15 TO 21 JULY
Turku Castle will be open as usual during the Slot Festival and Tall Ships Races. Access to Turku Castle is via the front gate of the bailey castle.
The Castle Park is fenced off for the festival. Construction work for the Tall Ships Races and Slot Festival will start on 15 July, and traffic will be suspended until 22 July.
Public transport lines 1 and 1B, which pass by Turku Castle, will use the exceptional route Linnankatu-Vallihaudankatu-Satamakatu and vice versa from Thursday to Sunday 18–21 July.
There are no parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of Turku Castle. The Tall Ship Races Turku 2024 event will provide a park-and-ride service, where you can leave your car at the parking lot of Turku Fair Centre and arrive near the Castle by shuttle bus.

Ticket sales end at the museum 30 minutes before closing time.

Free admission to the museum is granted for
- the staff members of other museums, members of ICOM
- students of the field
- representatives of the press
- tour guides and tour leaders, and bus driver entering with their group
A valid membership card is required for free admission.
Pupils and students of early childhood education, comprehensive schools and upper secondary education in Turku, as well as the teachers entering with the groups get free admission (with the exception of May and June, when the pupil and student group fee is charged from all pupil and student groups). The prerequisite for pupil and student prices is that the pupils/students must proceed as a single group within the museum, and a teacher or early childhood educator must act as the group leader.
No concessions for visits outside normal opening hours.
Please note
Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the museum. Assistance dogs are admitted.
Studded winter shoes are not allowed indoors. Our floors are old and delicate, and the studs will wear the natural materials.
