Kupittaanpuisto park is the largest and oldest urban park in Finland with plenty of space for fantastic outdoor events.

Kupittaanpuisto park, located in the Kupittaa district of Turku, is no ordinary park: it is the oldest urban park in Finland and it offers a wide range of services that is unmatched by any other park in Finland. The total area of the park is an impressive 24 hectares.

There are two venues available in Kupittaanpuisto park: Blomberginaukio square and St. Henry’s Square. Blomberginaukio square is located between the sports fields of Veritas Stadium and the Kupittaa Sports Hall.

St. Henry’s Square is located between the Kupittaa Sports Hall and the Kupittaa Outdoor Swimming Arena and is surrounded by green areas and lawns. St. Henry’s Square is named after St. Henry’s spring, which is located on the square. The spring is an ancient sacrificial site and it is known for its good water. The Kupittaa Spa was established around the spring. A small eight-sided well building, built in 1824, still remains of the spa.

As for sports events, Finland’s Gymnaestrada brought 10,000 gymnasts to exercise in Kupittaanpuisto park, and Runfest Turku also sets up its own exercise village in the area every year. St. Henry’s Square acts as the venue for the Aurafest music festival. Other music festivals, such as Musapiknik and Seikkisrock, as well as an annual new year’s firework display for children, have also been held in the area.
