The playground activities and club activities of the City of Turku early childhood education and care open on Monday 18 May and remain open until 26 June. After the summer break, they open again on 3 August.

Open day care and family club activities are closed until the end of July. A separate decision on opening the activities in August is made at the beginning of August.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Finnish National Agency for Education, a child who is even slightly ill should not attend early childhood education and care, and we follow the same policy also in open services.

Request for playground users

In playground activities, we follow the guidelines of the Finnish National Agency for Education: The presence of others than children, school and early childhood education and care staff in the area of school or early childhood education and care must be avoided. Each unit must determine the appropriate practices for their situation and instruct families to act accordingly.

For this reason, we hope that families who are not involved in playground activities of early childhood education and care would use these playgrounds only after the operating hours. The operating hours are from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

We keep track of the guidelines of the Finnish National Agency for Education and communicate potential changes on the City of Turku website.
