Rauvolanlahti

Rauvolanlahti (Rauvola Bay) is located on the border of Turku and Kaarina cities. It belongs to the national Waterfowl Habitats Conservation Programme which was confirmed by the Council of State in 1982. The bay is part of the Natura 2000 network.

Rauvolanlahti together with the Katariinanlaako and Vaarniemi nature reserves comprises a popular bird watching destination. The easiest way to explore the bay is to take the signposted route that starts from the Katariina district as a walkway and continues as duckboards across the bay to the bird watching tower and as a path further to the Vaarniemi grove.
