Ceiling repairs in Main Library’s Poetry Room starting on Nov 18th

We are making repairs to the plaster work in the old library building Bibliotheca’s Poetry Room ceiling starting on November 18th.

The library system will be updated on 18 November - During the update the Turku libraries will be closed

Vaski libraries will update its library system to a new version on 18 November 2024. During this time, it's not possible to loan or return library items. The main Library and all branch libraries will be closed, and the library busses do not drive on 18 November.

Old Main Library’s return machine is moving

We’re trying out new ways with library returns in order to help returns find their borrowers with ease. As a part of this try-out, the automated return machine in the foyer of the Old Main Library can be found in the Literature and Arts Department from November 4th 2024 onward.

Cineast – a new streaming service

Cineast is a new streaming service for digital movies offered by Vaski libraries. The collection is impressive and new content is added on a regular basis.  All you need is a valid Vaski library card!

Renovations begin at the Literature and Arts section of Turku Main Library – some material and facilities unavailable from 11 March

The renovation of the Literature and Arts section on the first floor of the old library building of Turku Main Library will start on 11 March 2024. The renovation will be carried out in phases and, as it progresses, the section's facilities and materials will become unavailable to varying degrees.

The library’s automated email messages will now be send from a new address

The sender address for automated emails sent by Vaski Libraries will now be noreply@koha-suomi.fi. Automated messages sent by the library include, among others, due date reminders, arrival notifications for reservations, as well as loan and return receipts.

Impacts of demonstrations in the Turku City Library

Due to a political demonstrations on Thursday 1 Feb from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday 6 Feb from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. there may be a temporary shortage in customer service.
